Victorian Ruby Snake Ring
Victorian Ruby Snake Ring (circa 1918) – 9K Rose Gold. We held on to this little Victorian Snake for as long as we could! He coils gorgeously in a triple designed band around the finger, the head detailed with a central small rose cut Ruby. The elongated little tail seems to suggest a male snake… In Victorian Jewellery, Snakes were a symbol of Eternal Love – in 1840, Prince Albert gifted Queen Victoria an engagement ring depicting 2 snakes in an eternal embrace- and set the trend for nature loving Victorians to incorporate snake symbolism into their jewellery design. Fully Hallmarked Assay Chester 1918 stamped 9K accordingly.
