Georgian Rose Gold Ring with Diamonds
Georgian 18K Rose Gold & Diamond French Blue Guilloche “Baque au Firmament” Ring- (or Ring of the Heavens) circa 1800-1809. What a rare find! Hand crafted in 18K Rose Gold throughout with a silver mount, housing a central old Rose Cut Diamond ( approximate 0.40ct) – The top face features French Blue Guilloche enameling with gorgeous concentric lathe detailing visible under the translucent enamel. “Baque au Firmament” rings were full of sentiment, the Diamonds representing the Stars, the blue enamel the Night sky. Queen Marie Antoinette wore her Baque au Firmament ring daily, making it fashionable in the late 18th and early 19th century. This mesmerising Ring with its deep blue lustre is truly a reminder of the opulence of a bygone era- Note- this ring is not restored and shows age appropriate wear to the surface – a few scratches to the enamel however does not detract from this incredible Antique piece!
