Antique Italian Putti Brooch
This gorgeous Italian 14K Gold brooch depicts a hand-painted scene of 2 young children fishing at a pond. They are accompanied by 2 playful angelic Putti- guarding over them. The scene is hand painted in pale blue and white enamel, and rendered in a classic style, reminiscent of cameo work. The brooch has an elongated oval shape with a lustrous gold framed setting. This detailed little scene suggests an allegory common in Italian art. Truly a unique collectors piece. Circa 1840-1860.
